Production
In 2003, Gregory Maguire’s novel “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West” was adapted into the Broadway musical “Wicked.” This novel offers a revisionist take on the characters and setting of L. Frank Baum’s 1900 novel “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.”
The stage musical was produced by Universal Pictures’ stage division and directed by Joe Mantello, with musical staging by Wayne Cilento.
