Story

Priyadarshini (Priya), a housewife, lives in a quiet neighbourhood with her husband Anthony and daughter Kani. Priya and her friend Steffi, a single mother, go for job interviews. Meanwhile, Manuel and his elderly mother Grace move in as new neighbours. Manuel charms the neighbourhood, but Priya becomes suspicious of his strange antics, such as serving lizard meat as beef at a party. After a fire incident, Grace disappears and Manuel says she has Alzheimer’s, which Priya finds suspicious.

Priya’s investigation reveals that Manuel and his family killed Diana, Manuel’s sister, for being a lesbian and dissolved her body in acid. Priya tries to save Aditi, Diana’s girlfriend, as Manuel and his family now plan to kill her as well. Priya arrives at Manuel’s bakery, rams the car into the building, gets Manuel and the others arrested, and rescues Aditi. The police arrest Manuel and his family, and Priya is praised for her bravery.

OTT Release date, Platform

The much-awaited thriller is now streaming on Zee5, starring Nazriya Nazim and Basil Joseph in the lead roles. Director MC’s creation has left a deep mark among the audience since its release in theatres on November 22. However, the OTT release date of this film is not yet clear, but it is expected that the film will be available on the OTT platform in this month of January 2025.

Following a good response from the audience, the film collected ₹15 crore in the first weekend. By the end of the second weekend, the film grossed ₹25 crore in India and ₹44 crore worldwide. So far, the film has crossed the ₹55 crore mark worldwide, of which ₹33 crore came in India and ₹22 crore from overseas.

Budget

The Malayalam film Sookshmadarshini had a budget of only ₹10 crores but it performed brilliantly at the box office and grossed ₹55 crores, proving to be a huge success for it. The film grossed almost 450% more than its budget, making it a hit.
