Plot

Garfield, an overweight and lazy orange tabby cat, lives a comfortable life with his owner Jon Arbuckle, and their energetic beagle friend Odie. One fateful night, while indulging in a midnight snack, Garfield and Odie are abducted by two dogs, Roland and Nolan, and taken to an abandoned mall where they are held captive. To their surprise, Garfield’s estranged father, Vic, appears and rescues them. Garfield harbors resentment towards Vic for abandoning him as a kitten in an alley.

The dogs’ leader, Jinx, a crazed Persian cat, arrives seeking revenge on Vic for leaving her during a milk heist at Lactose Farms, which resulted in her imprisonment. Jinx strikes a deal: she will forgive Vic if he, Garfield, and Odie help her steal a large amount of milk from Lactose Farms as retribution. Reluctantly, they agree, knowing Roland and Nolan are watching closely.

The next morning, Jon notices Garfield and Odie missing but struggles to find help to search for them. Vic, Garfield, and Odie hop on a train to Lactose Farms, where Vic attempts to bond with his stubborn son to no avail. Arriving at the heavily guarded farm, they encounter Otto, a bull and former farm mascot, who was ousted when a corporation took over the farm, separating him from his beloved cow Ethel. They strike a deal with Otto: he’ll aid their break-in if they help reunite him with Ethel.
