Plot

After serving 14 years in prison, Thilagavarman, a former ambulance driver, is granted parole to visit his dying father and estranged daughter, Malar, in Kanchipuram. Malar harbors resentment towards Thilagan, blaming him for her mother Jennifer’s death and wanting nothing to do with him. She chooses to stay with her aunt while Thilagan is on parole. Thilagan’s reunion with his family is bittersweet, as his mother encourages him to reconcile with Malar.

Simultaneously, Anbazhagan, known as “Anbu,” plots to kill his leader, local minister Manickam Thangam. Anbu hires an accomplice, Manikandan, offering ₹50 lakhs to carry out the murder at a bar. Thilagan, accompanied by his shadow police officer Velankanni, witnesses Manickam meeting with Anbu at Annachi Wines. Anbu departs, leaving Manickam vulnerable. Manikandan arrives and fatally stabs Manickam in the neck.

The next day, DSP Nagalingam and Nandhini investigate the murder. Suspicion initially falls on Nandhini, who vehemently denies any involvement. Meanwhile, Velankanni informs Anbu about the police finding the murder weapon with fingerprints. Under pressure, Anbu coerces Manikandan to confess in court.

A pathologist reveals that Manickam’s death was caused by an eardrum rupture due to high-decibel noise, which made him bleed from the nose and ears. Nandhini later visits Anbu at his farmhouse. Thilagan and Velankanni confront Anbu, with Thilagan ultimately killing him by tampering with his inhaler, using hydrogen cyanide. Nandhini, piecing together the clues, concludes that Thilagan orchestrated the deaths of both Anbu and Manickam, leading to his arrest.
