Plot

Set in the post-independence era, “Razakar” unravels the tumultuous and oppressive period in Hyderabad State following India’s independence on August 15, 1947. While the rest of India rejoiced in newfound freedom, Hyderabad remained under the tyrannical rule of the Nizam for another year. The Nizam, refusing to accede to the Indian Union, unleashed the Razakars, a private militia notorious for their extreme fanaticism and brutality, upon the local populace.

The film portrays the severe oppression and atrocities committed by the Razakars under the Nizam’s directive. The Razakars, driven by a fanatic zeal to maintain the Nizam’s dominion, resort to heinous acts of violence, intimidation, and murder, plunging the region into a state of fear and chaos. Villages are burned, families are torn apart, and countless innocent lives are lost in their ruthless campaign to quash any opposition.

Against this backdrop of terror and suffering, the film introduces a group of unsung heroes who rise to challenge the oppressive regime. These brave individuals, hailing from various walks of life, unite in their resolve to fight against the tyranny of the Nizam and his Razakars.
