Plot

Anand, famously known as Mr. Bachchan (played by Ravi Teja), is a dedicated and formidable Income Tax Officer with a reputation for exposing hidden wealth and black money accumulated by the corrupt. He instantly falls in love with Jikki (Bhagyashri Borse), a woman from his village belonging to the Marwadi community. The region’s political power rests in the hands of MP Jaggayya (Jagapathi Babu), who harbors a deep grudge against Bachchan for disgracing his family. Determined to take Bachchan down, Jaggayya begins a relentless pursuit, but Bachchan, along with his team, launches a daring Income Tax raid on Jaggayya’s residence.

The story delves into how Anand acquired the moniker “Mr. Bachchan,” the obstacles he encountered during his Income Tax raids, and the incidents that led to his suspension. It also traces his romantic journey with Jikki, their eventual marriage, and the intense drama that ensued during the raid on Jaggayya’s home. The film highlights the tactical battle between Bachchan and Jaggayya, ultimately showcasing how Bachchan outsmarts the MP’s devious plans.

Fit Or Flop

Massraja Ravi Teja, known for entertaining his fans with consecutive films like ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’ and ‘Eagle,’ is gearing up for another cinematic release. Despite the previous movies not meeting box office expectations, his latest project, titled ‘Mr Bachchan,’ directed by Harish Shankar S.

Aims to make an impact. This film, based on real-life events, was released globally on August 15, facing stiff competition from Vikram’s ‘Thangalaan’ and Ram Pothineni’s ‘Double iSmart.’ Bhagyashri Borse, who makes her Tollywood debut, stars as the female lead. Unfortunately, the movie received mixed reviews, with critics calling it a mediocre production marred by poor filmmaking and cringe-worthy content.

Box Office Collection

As per Sacnilk’s reports, ‘Mr. Bachchan managed to earn around Rs. 3.50 crores in net collection across India on its first day. The film experienced an overall occupancy rate of 41.18% in Telugu-speaking areas, with afternoon shows drawing the most crowds, reaching 53.75% occupancy. In contrast, the morning and night shows had lower attendance, with occupancy rates of 35.04% and 30.73%, respectively.

Rating

Times Now rated the film 2 out of 5 stars, while The Indian Express was less generous, awarding it just 1.5 out of 5. Cinema Express echoed this sentiment, also giving the movie a 1.5/5 rating.

Mr Bachchan is made on a budget of 50 crores.
