Skanda: Box Office, OTT Release Date, Platform and Review

Skanda is a 2023 Indian Telugu-language action/Romance film directed by Boyapati Srinu. The movie stars Ram Pothineni in the lead role, with Sreeleela and Saiee Manjrekar as the female leads.

Plot:

Rayudu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, arranges his daughter’s marriage to Chinnappa. However, the son of Telangana’s Chief Minister, Ranjith Reddy, elopes with her during the wedding. This incident ignites a fierce enmity between Rayudu and Ranjith Reddy.

Bhaskar Raju, a college student, kidnaps Rayudu’s daughter and, Leela, who is his classmate, and takes them to his hometown, Rudrarajupuram. The kidnappings are linked to Rudrakanti Ramakrishna Raju, the CEO of Crown Group, who is on death row, falsely imprisoned by Rayudu and Ranjith Reddy for refusing to legitimize their illegal money. Ramakrishna Raju is revealed to be the best friend of Bhaskar’s father, Manikanta Raju.

Bhaskar’s motive is to prove Ramakrishna Raju’s innocence, who took the blame for protecting his daughter, Rudraganti Parineeta, held captive by Rayudu and Ranjith Reddy’s men. With no other option, Rayudu and Ranjith bail out Ramakrishna Raju from prison. Subsequently, they attack Bhaskar and his family at a temple festival, but they are saved by Bhaskar’s doppelgänger.

Review

Skanda received negative reviews from critics, who criticized the story, screenplay, cast performance, and action sequences. The Times of India rated it 2 out of 5 stars, while The South First gave it 1.5 out of 5 stars.
