Shaitaan is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language horror and thriller Movie. directed by Vikas Bahl. This film adds a new dimension to the Bollywood horror genre by combining elements of Thriller, Horror, and psychological drama.

Plot

Kabir Rishi, a chartered accountant, and his wife Jyoti live with their children, Janhvi and Dhruv, in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. During a vacation at their farmhouse in a secluded hill station, they encounter Vanraj Kashyap, a mysterious man. Vanraj initiates a strange interaction by offering Janhvi a laddu in exchange for her paratha. After consuming the laddu, Janhvi inexplicably begins obeying Vanraj’s every command, as if under a spell. Later, Vanraj gives Janhvi a packet of biscuits with instructions to eat them upon reaching the farmhouse.

As the family enjoys the farmhouse pool, Jyoti, dealing with a wet phone, places it in a rice box to dry and heads to the terrace. There, she unexpectedly finds Vanraj standing at the farmhouse door. Janhvi, under Vanraj’s influence, lets him in, claiming his phone’s battery is dead. His presence unsettles the family, especially Jyoti, who urges Kabir to escort Vanraj out. However, Vanraj starts engaging Janhvi in conversations about her personal life, including her boyfriend and college.

Tensions escalate when Dhruv, oblivious to the situation, innocently asks Janhvi to play with him. Vanraj, irritated by Dhruv’s interruption, commands Janhvi to scare Dhruv on the swing, causing a distressing incident that alarms Jyoti and Kabir. Despite Kabir’s attempts to intervene, Janhvi, under Vanraj’s spell, prevents him from removing Vanraj from the premises. Frustrated and alarmed, Kabir confronts Vanraj, demanding to know what he has done to Janhvi. It is then revealed that Vanraj has hypnotized Janhvi using black magic, compelling her to obey his every directive.
