Carry On The story of the film is set at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), but it was actually shot at New Orleans International Airport (MSY). Huge changes were made to make this place look like LAX, so that it feels like a real airport.

Realism with TSA’s help

Director Jaume Collet-Serra consulted experts from TSA (Transportation Security Administration) to make the film more realistic, so that the security checkpoints and airport process could be shown as real.

Sofia Carson changed her part

In a particular scene, Sofia Carson’s character gets stuck in a dangerous situation, and it was already written in the script that Taron Egerton would save her. But Sofia requested the director that her character should save herself, which made the story more powerful.

Taron Egerton’s strong action

Taron Egerton trained in martial arts and hand-to-hand combat for his role. He did many of the action scenes in the film himself, which made the fighting scenes look more natural.

Real feel of security check

The film team took training from real security officers to make the airport security check more realistic. Many times the extras (people playing small roles in the film) felt like they were actually at the airport, because the environment was created completely like real.

The director used handheld cameras and tight shots to make Carry-On more thrilling and claustrophobic. This made the audience feel like they were in that environment and could feel the tension.
