Story
The story is about a wealthy family facing strange events with their newborn child in Los Angeles. Hwa Rim (Kim Go-eun) and Bong Gil (Lee Do-hyun), a new shaman team, are called in to help the family. Hwa Rim realizes that the family is under the influence of their ancestors’ ‘Grave Calling’. His search leads them to Sang Deok (Choi Min-sik), a geomancer, and Yeong Geun (Yoo Hae-jin), an undertaker. Together they discover a hidden grave in a small Korean village and unleash an ancient power that changes everything.
Real Effects and Film Shoot
Director Jang Jae-hyun used little computer effects to give the film a realistic look. He decided to shoot on real makeup and sets, which made every scene seem more terrifying and real. It took almost 6 hours to make the makeup of the ghosts, so that the scenes could be more impressive.

Exhuma is not only horror, but it also mentions the old stories of Korea and their pain and suffering. This film also brings alive the memories of history by mentioning Japanese occupation at some places, which makes this story even more special.
