Plot
Saripodhaa Sanivaaram (aka Surya’s Saturday) narrates the story of Surya, who grapples with anger issues. His mother, recognizing his emotional struggles since adolescence, advises him to keep his anger in check on most days, allowing him to express it only on one specific day.
After his mother’s death on a Saturday, Surya believes she intended for him to express his anger on that day alone. This belief drives him to lead a peaceful life from Sunday through Friday, with Saturdays dedicated to releasing his pent-up rage. This peculiar routine eventually leads him into a conflict with a police officer named Dayanand, and the rest of the film examines the struggle between them and its impact on Surya’s life.

The Telugu 2D version contributed ₹8.25 crore, while the Tamil version earned ₹4900 lakh. The movie had an overall occupancy of 56.16% on August 31.
Saripodhaa Sanivaaram Box Office In Hyderabad, it saw the highest occupancy with 82% for night shows, 71% for evening shows, and 61% for afternoon shows. Chennai followed with 61.75% occupancy across 95 shows, and Delhi-NCR recorded 60% occupancy for 17 screenings.
Good React
Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is a well-crafted commercial Telugu film that skillfully balances action, masala, humor, and drama. Nani, living up to his nickname “Natural Star,” is the powerhouse of the film, while SJ Suryah impressively portrays a menacing villain with just a smile, making their scenes together the film’s standout moments.
The supporting cast, including Sai Kumar and Priyanka Arul Mohan, deliver solid performances, with Priyanka’s role being more than just eye candy and the romance subplot integrating seamlessly into the story. Vivek Athreya’s clever screenplay avoids typical industry tropes, ensuring that each character serves a clear purpose. The technical aspects, from Murali G’s visuals to Karthika Srinivas’s editing, enhance the film’s impact, while Jakes Bejoy’s powerful score, especially the track Shiva Thandavam, leaves a lasting impression, making the film a complete and engaging experience.
Bad React
Saripodhaa Sanivaaram takes a long time to build the story and introduce characters, making the 3-hour runtime feel a bit lengthy. Some characters don’t seem to add much to the plot, raising questions about their purpose.
The first half of the film misses chances to enhance the story, and the interval block feels like it’s teasing the climax too early, which affects the pacing. Ending the first half with the fight scene might have been a better choice. Additionally, the scenes showing Surya’s memories of his late mother often feel rushed and rely heavily on Nani’s performance, rather than being naturally woven into the story.
