Deadpool & Wolverine: The Crow, Box Office Highlights

In its fifth weekend, Deadpool & Wolverine climbed back to the number one spot, pushing Alien Romulus to second place during its second weekend. The film, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, not only reclaimed the top position from Alien Romulus but also outshined three new releases. The movie continues its impressive streak, recently overtaking an MCU fan favorite in deadpool and wolverine box office rankings to become the eighth highest-grossing Marvel film. Directed by Shawn Levy, the blockbuster surpassed Captain America: Civil War in lifetime earnings.

This weekend, the Disney/Marvel film brought in $17.8 million, outpacing Alien Romulus, which earned $16 million. The superhero sequel has garnered $563.7 million domestically and $597.9 million internationally, bringing its worldwide total to $1.161 billion.

How did The Crow fare?

The Crow is still struggling to break into the top 5, even after earning $2 million on Friday and having 2,752 previews. This new R-rated adaptation of the famous graphic novel is becoming Lions Gate’s second box office disappointment in August, following Borderlands. Despite its $50 million budget, The Crow is not meeting expectations, though Lions Gate has managed to protect its financial interests, as it has done with previous releases.

Alien Romulus Strong Performance

Alien Romulus is currently trailing Deadpool and Wolverine in domestic box office rankings. The Disney sci-fi sequel brought in $4.5 million on Friday and is anticipated to experience a 61% decrease in its second week. However, by the end of the weekend, Romulus is set to exceed a $75 million domestic gross, which is seen as a strong performance for the film.

It Ends With Us Claims Third Place

Sony’s It Ends With Us holds the third spot, having earned $11.8 million in its third weekend. With a production budget of $25 million, it has performed impressively and is on track to surpass IF and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire to become the 11th highest-grossing film in North America this year.
